Alice Rita Eastman

Beloved wife of Roger Eastman for over 49 years; mother of Laurie Eastman Belsome (Paul), Cynthia Eastman Biddlecome (James), and Matthew Eastman (Lauren); grandmother of Paul Belsome IV, Gabriel Eastman, Kaydence Eastman, Mardi Eastman, Landon Belsome, Peyton Belsome, Abram Eastman, Kellen Eastman, Adah Eastman, and Andi Eastman; Daughter of the late Fred Phillips and Anna Mae Creppell Phillips; Sister of David Reyes (the late Theresa), Roland Phillips (Marsha), Shelia Machado (Reed), Connie Bernich (the late John), John Phillips (the late Barbara), Don Pedro Phillips, and Myrtle Phillps (the late Norris), as well as the late Raymond Reyes (Betty), Ronald Phillips, and Mona Bergeron (the late Dickey). She also had a bonus daughter, Victoria McClelland; Bonus grandchildren Nathan Biddlecome and Michael Biddlecome; and bonus great grandson Ryland Biddlecome. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Her life and passion was her family. She loved music, flowers, traveling and a good party. She was known for her legendary luaus. She never met a stranger that she did not make a friend. She was a real bayou woman who was born in Grand Bayou, Louisiana. She would help anyone who needed it. She played the piano, accordion and sang. She also loved playing cards, and won more that some of the family thought she should. She left a legacy of rich memories to last her family and friends a lifetime.

A visitation for Alice will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. A visitation will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Exceleration Church, 7737 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM at Exeleration Church, 7737 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. Pastor Sheila Machado will Officiate.
