William W. (Sonny) Walker, Jr., 76, of Marlin, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in a Waco hospital, following a sudden stroke. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Adams Funeral Home with the Reverends Stephen Ramsdell of Waco and Lynn Starnes of Mooreville, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, May 24th at Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Walker was born on November 28, 1936 in Chilton, Texas, to William and Lola Clark Walker. He married Freddie Kilgore on September 21, 1968 in Marlin and they celebrated over 44 wonderful years together. Mr. Walker retired in 2004 from Central Freight Lines after 39 ½ years of service. He was very devoted to his work and his co-workers. Mr. Walker loved to sing, dance and work on lawn mowers. He also loved trucks and traveling; especially to Branson, the hill country, and the beach. Mr. Walker was very social, faithful, and committed to his friends but his greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family. He was a lifelong Methodist. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Freddie Walker; son, Wesley Walker, and his wife, Nancy, of Waco; grandchildren, Will and Olivia Walker of Waco; sisters, Pearl Beachamp and her husband, Johnny, of Hobbs, NM; and Ima Walter of McGregor; brother, Rubel Walker and his wife, Cindy, of Robinson, and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
