Thomas McKinley Criswell II was born December 31st, 1959 in Marlin, Texas to Thomas McKinley Criswell Sr. and Wanda Harper Criswell. Tom graduated from Marlin High School in 1978. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and an active member of the Marlin Country Club, where he served on the board for many years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church where he attended his father’s Sunday school classes, as well as the church services, before heading off to Southwest Texas University where Tom was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He worked with his father, Thomas McKinley Criswell Sr., at Criswell Enterprises Inc. for over 30 years. A bittersweet memory is when Thomas Sr., Tom II, and his son Zeb would lead songs at the Criswell cemetery annual homecoming reunion. In Tom’s free time, you could always find him at the baseball field watching his son, Zeb. If he wasn’t at the baseball fields, you could find him at the Marlin Country Club surrounded by his friends jamming to some rock-n-roll music. He loved watching westerns, Fox News, and sports. One of his all-time-favorite movies was Tombstone. Tom was always a very fun guy and he had a great sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas McKinley Criswell Sr.; mother, Wanda Harper Criswell; his two dogs, Eadee and Cotton-Eyed-Joe.
He was survived by his only son, Zebulun Pierce Criswell and daughter-in-law Chynna Usrey; sisters, Pam Fillip, Shannon Peck, Kathy Criswell; ex-wife and mother of his child, Donis Quin; numerous cousins, 3 nieces, 4 nephews, and 12 great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home 129 Coleman St. Marlin, Texas from 2pm-6pm Saturday, June 27, 2020.
