Terry Duane Nutt

Terry Duane Nutt, 54, of Marlin entered into rest Saturday, June 9, 2012. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Russom officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home.

Terry was born August 9, 1957 in Marlin to Clyde and Wandalene Lucas Nutt. At the age of ten, Terry and his family moved from Marlin to Austin, Texas, where he later graduated from Travis High School. A short time after high school, he joined the United States Navy. Upon completion of his naval duties, Terry was honorably discharged and began working in the family business, while also serving in the Texas Army National Guard. Terry later met and married Judy Norman on May 01, 1982. Terry and Judy later gave birth to Heather Jeanette Nutt on January 05, 1985 and Kevin Henry Nutt on October 18, 1986. He went on to work at Wallace Business Forms and eventually went on to own Blondie’s Wrecker Service, after he retired from Wallace. Terry’s continuous commitment to the community of Marlin led him to his one term serving on the Marlin City Council. During and after his term on City Council, he contributed his time and effort to the youth of the Marlin Little League, both as a coach and umpire. Terry had a passion for community service and dedicated his life to serving numerous years as a Marlin Volunteer Firefighter. His passion and courageousness led him to be promoted to Lieutenant and he gained a second family within the Department. Terry’s greatest passion was being a husband, father, and grandfather to his family and granddaughters. He had strong bonds with his father, siblings, and family members and many of them considered him not just family, but more of a best friend. Terry Nutt’s devotion to family, community, and personal passions will forever be remembered and forever felt.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Wandalene Lucas Nutt and his grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judy Nutt of Marlin; father, Clyde Nutt of Marlin; son, Kevin Nutt and wife Ashley of Angleton; daughter, Heather Nutt of Marlin; brother, Larry Nutt and wife Melinda of Lake Jackson; sisters, Nancy Mullins and husband Joe of Riesel; Judy Venegas and husband Davie of Chilton; grandchildren, Janeisha Brown, Ashlyn Nutt and Brooklyn Nutt. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers will be the men of the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be the women of the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department.
