Richard Michael Donohoo, 75 passed away peacefully in his home July 23, 2022. He was born January 17, 1947 to Richard and Dorothy Donohoo in Marlin, TX. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Diane Donohoo Tinsley. He is survived by his niece Deborah Tinsley Humphreys, husband Stephen Humphreys, sons Taylor and Preston Humphreys, nephew Scott Tinsley and his sons Hayden and Marshall Tinsley, nephew Jeff Tinsley, his wife Veronique Tinsley and children Mason and Morgan Tinsley, as well as numerous close relatives and friends.
Mike graduated from Marlin High School in 1965 where he was the kicking specialist on the football team. He received his Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and went on to receive his Master's degree in Audiology at the same institution in 1972. He was hired by Northern Illinois Association, a special education cooperative located in DeKalb, Illinois, as an Audiologist in 1972.
He married Susan Mumma on July 28, 1973 in Merrill, Wisconsin. In 1979 he purchased Hinsdale Hearing Services in Hinsdale, Illinois which became a multi-provider medical practice, the third largest of its type in the State of Illinois. He sold the private practice in 1997.
Mike married his 2nd wife, Laurie Hanna and relocated to Trinidad, Colorado. They owned and operated a Budget Host Hotel for several years. After the sale of the hotel, Mike moved to San Antonio where he lived the last 12 years of his life.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on August 26th at Adams Funeral Home, 129 Coleman St. Marlin, TX 76661.
