James Ray Jones "Jamie", 76, of Whitney, Texas formally of Marlin, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. James was born to William E. and Sarah Thurman Jones on August 8, 1943. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM September 16, 2019 at Adams Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
James married the love of his life Jean Ann on February 5, 1966. They have been married 53 years.
James Jones was 20 year retired military. He worked for the city of Marlin for 7 years as a mechanic. James was manager of Ben’s Short Stop for 13 years and then retired. He was a member of the Trinity Memorial Church of Marlin. He enjoyed fishing, barbequing cook offs with his teams. He loved RV traveling to see the country and his friends. He loved his family and was “Grumpy Grandpa” to 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Being retired he enjoyed spending time playing pool and Farkle with his neighbors.
James Jones was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers David Jones, Odis Jones, and Benny Jones; and one Sister Linda Thomas.
James leaves behind his Wife Jean Ann Jones; Son’s Kujo Jones, Jason Jones (Kimberly). Twin sister Geneva Welker (Gary), Leatrice Hamill (Don) and Jessie Glass. 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews, Family and Friends.
