Gerardo “Jerry” Vergara, 48, entered into rest Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00A.M. at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Marlin, Texas. Father Walter Dhanwar will officiate. No public visitation will be scheduled.
Jerry Vergara was born in Floydada, Texas on September 13, 1964 to parents, Jose and Amelia Vergara. Jerry had a very deep faith in God. He had a lot of friends and was loved by his peers. He enjoyed running and fitness was very important to him. He loved the Army, having served his country for many years. Jerry was very good natured and always had a big smile; ladies liked him and spoiled him as did the nursing home staff. His family will remember him always as being very witty, charming, natural, and being very close to his mother.
Jerry is survived by his brother, Joe & wife Tracy of Pflugerville; sister, Tena Vergara of Arlington; brother, Juan Vergara of Clute; sister, Osvelia & husband Cliff Deeds of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Homer & wife Virginia Vergara of Belton; sister, Lydia & husband Robert Morgan of Gilford, New Hampshire; brother, Ricardo & wife Debi Vergara of Gig Harbor, Washington; brother, Edward & wife Samantha Vergara of Cameron, Missouri; sister, Ida & husband Garry Apuna of Round Rock; brother, Daniel Vergara of Austin; sister, Sylvia & husband Carlos Gonzalez of Austin; sister, Ruth & husband Greg Lopez of Hewitt; sister, Esmeralda & husband Eric Shulz of Round Rock; and brother, Rene & wife Karen Vergara of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Amelia Vergara.
