Mary Louise Brown, 83 of Markle went home to heaven at 8:40 pm Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a den mother for the Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for 4 & 5 year olds and she was craft director for vacation Bible school. Her first job was at the telephone company in Markle. She collected soup labels for Cookson Hills Children’s Home. She enjoyed camping and archery with her family. She also enjoyed sports and was a die hard Cubs fan.
She was born on May 30, 1928 in Markle, a daughter of William R. and Dolores E. (Paul) Jennings.
She was united in marriage to Dale L. Brown on February 14, 1946 in Markle. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2009.
Survivors include a daughter: Karen (Michael) Kinney of Markle; two sisters: Martha Foughty of Ossian; Marjorie (Harold) Arnold of Bluffton; a brother: James L. (Martha) Jennings of Huntington; daughter-in-law: Cheryl Brown of Markle; three grandchildren: Tracie, Billy and Jarod, and six great grandchildren: Hannah, Haylie, Kiley, Khloe, Storm and Colton.
She was preceded in death by a son: Herbert L. Brown and a sister: Jean Cook.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 1:30 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse Street, Markle, Indiana. Mike Duggan will officiate.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
