Donald W. Waldron, 87 of Fort Wayne passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Harbour Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. He was a 1943 graduate of Hazelton High School in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. He was a WWII Army veteran serving in the 1075th Engineer Port Repair Ship. He worked as a service manager for United Airlines for 38 years; he started in Allentown, PA and retired from Fort Wayne Airport in 1978. He was a member of the American Legion Post 296 of Fort Wayne and the Waynedale Masonic Lodge. He was a volunteer worker at The Embassy in Fort Wayne for several years. He was a member of the Fort Wayne Barbershop Quartet. He started the Markle Bow Hunters Club.
He was born on August 21, 1925 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, a son of Joseph and Dawn (Griffith) Waldron.
He was united in marriage to Audrey M. Wunderlich for 25 years, she preceded him in death on November 15, 2012, his second marriage was to Corinne Martin and she preceded him in death on October 19, 2009.
Survivors include two sons: Gary Waldron of Markle; Mark Waldron of Franklin, IN; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Jennings Waldron.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Greg Comp officiating.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
