Mrs. Chambers attended Mountain View High School and will always be remembered as the author of the senior class poem. She spent her entire life in Marion where she raised a beautiful family. She was a member of Addie’s Chapel United Methodist Church where in her younger years was an active member of the Young Adult Choir.
She was a loving mother and a dedicated wife. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Lee Chambers of Marion; six children, Robert L. Logan and his wife, Sonia of Pittsboro, NC, Lucy Lewis, Bill Chambers and John Chambers, all of Marion, Patricia Sifford and her husband, Tony of Troutman, NC and Dean Chambers of Durham, NC; eight grandchildren, Ashley Chambers, Brittany Chambers, Melvin Gill, Sterling Logan, Waverly Logan, Emily Chambers, Jordan Chambers and Nathaniel Gill; and three great-grandchildren, Aundrea and Dredon Lytle and Rhian Chambers; and several cousins including Leo Logan, Evelyn Carson, Pricilla Carson, Marvin Carson and Wilber Carson.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Addie’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Carl Manuel and the Reverend Dale Sneed officiating. Burial will follow the service at McDowell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
