Raymond Edward Daniels, Jr., 74, of Marion, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence. Born on July 8, 1938 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond Edward Daniels, Sr. and the late Irene Ida Belden Daniels.
Mr. Daniels was a great card player and Bridge enthusiast, and an avid stamp and coin collector. He was known for his catch phrase, “Fantastic, never had it so good.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Edward Daniels, III. He is survived by his wife, Shirley R. Daniels; sister, Judith Mead and her husband, Carl Mead of Marion; nieces and nephews, Glenn Mead, Dale Mead Lawrence, Debra Mead Warden and Drew Mead; and step-children, George Rettie, Karen Rettie and Gordon Rettie.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Daniels will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion.
The family will receive friends with a catered reception following the service at the funeral home.
