Myrtle Elizabeth Autrey Blalock

She was born on March 1, 1919 in McDowell County, NC to the late Lindsay and Mary Elizabeth Crissawn Autrey. Mrs. Blalock was a member of Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Herman Blalock; her son, Jackie Lee Blalock; one grandson, Edward Kenneth Blalock; four brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving Mrs. Blalock are two sons, Eugene Blalock and wife, Joan of Sunrise Beach, TX and Jerry Blalock and wife, Debbie of Leaky, TX; one daughter-in-law, Janice Blalock of Marion, NC; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 9:00AM until 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at South Estatoe Baptist Church in Yancey County. A Funeral Service will follow at the church with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service at Autrey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Estatoe Baptist Church.
