Mary Etta Hardy Fullwood, 96, of Nebo, NC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her residence. She was a member of St. John AME Church where she served as a missionary, steward, and class leader for many years.
She was born January 13, 1916 in McDowell County, to the late Bam Hardy and Cynthia Rutherford Hardy.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Fullwood; five sisters, Pearl Hardy, Joeila Cuthbertson, Elizabeth “Pansy” Richards, Louise Goode and Mary Lou Griffin; and four brothers, Zeb Rutherford, Thomas Hardy, James Hardy and Kenneth Hardy.
Left behind to cherish Mrs. Fullwood’s memory one son, Robert Fullwood of Nebo, NC; one daughter, Minnie Tate of Nebo, NC; two God-daughters, Nora Hardy of Upper Marlboro, MD and Lynette Jones of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Don Tate of Nebo, NC, Barbara Tate of Morganton, NC and William E. Tate and wife, Janice of Morganton, NC; four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Washington of Morganton, NC and Virginia Hardy of Nebo, NC.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at St. John AME Church in Nebo with Rev. Debora Smith officiating. Burial will follow at St. John AME Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
