Mr. Haywood Oscar Morgan

Mr. Haywood Oscar Morgan, 77, of Marion, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at McDowell Hospital. A native of Morgan County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Bill Morgan and Myrtle Keathley Morgan. He retired from Marion Manufacturing as a Picker Operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee “Tinker” Morgan; by four brothers; and by two sisters.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lottie “Rooster” Ledford Morgan; by sons, Billy Dean Morgan and wife Vickie, Ronnie Lee Morgan and wife Melissa, and Roy Todd Morgan and wife Jaynie, all of Marion; by a daughter, Danielle Morgan of Marion; by a brother, Jimmy Morgan of Morgan Co., Tennessee; by five sisters, Patsy Schmidt and husband Richard of Nashville, TN, Nancy Monty of Oneida, TN, Thelma Phillips of Harmon, TN, Rita Baker of Harmon, TN and Debbie Hutchinson of California. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Advantage-Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. A funeral service will be held at Fines Creek Baptist Church in Clyde, North Carolina on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM with the Rev. Jimmy Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
