She was born in Spruce Pine to the late William Carl Tipton and Ethel Marie McFalls Tipton, and she was a member of Old Fort Church of God. Connie loved her family and spent countless hours in prayer for them and in the reading of the Word.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Tipton and Orabell “Goldie” Sikes, and five brothers, Carl Tipton, Charlie Tipton, Richard Tipton, Frank McFalls, and Billy Ray Baker.
She is survived by a niece, Goldie Hughes, and husband Neil, as well as a great nephew, Eli Hughes and great niece, Hannah Jean Hughes all of the home. A host of other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Taylor is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Hollifield of Spruce Pine, and Pearl Tipton and sister-in-law, Michelle Bitler of Hickory.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church on Dale Road in Spruce Pine at 4 PM with Pastor Clayton McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
