Betty Lee Hubbard

Betty Lee Hubbard, age 48, of Nebo, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 1, 1966 in Grundy, VA. She was very family oriented and loved her grandchildren!

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Whitt and Rosie Hatfield Whitt; her brothers, David “Buddy” Whitt and Lonnie Looney; and her biological parents, Elige R. “Sonny” Looney and Mary Reeses Looney.

Surviving Betty are her husband, Jerry Thomas Hubbard of the home; her son, David Gibson of Marion, NC; her daughter, Rosie Gibson of Old Fort, NC; four beloved grandchildren, Elijah Smith, Kayleigh Gibson, Aiden Gibson and Rylan Gibson; ten siblings, Anne Lane, Willie Mae Looney, Steve Looney and wife, Rhonda, Shirley Looney and husband, Dusty, Roger “Cock” Looney and wife, Pam, Sonny Looney, Harley Radford “Rat” Looney, Elmer “Pig” Looney, Mark “Mike” Looney and David Looney; Uncle and Aunt, Hubert and Sue Hatfield of Premiere, WV; and special friends, Melissa Treasure of FL and April Hill of KY.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. In addition to Friday evenings visitation, the family will also receive friends 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Stamey Branch Church in Avery County, NC. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Burl Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Stamey Branch Church Cemetery.
