Bill graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Business Administration. He retired from IBM after 37 years and spent the next 5 years working for the Department of Homeland Security. To Bill, no person was a stranger. He loved to strike up a conversation with every single person he ever met and truly took an interest in them. He loved bringing a smile to someone’s face with a quick chat and remembering their name.
In his spare time, Bill loved to cook for his family and friends. He owned a restaurant for a brief period of time and would share how he “jazzed up” a recipe to make it more flavorful. He also was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Georgia Football, going on cruises, and vacationing with his children and grandchildren, especially in Destin, FL.
Bill was dearly loved by Marilynn, his wife of nearly 50 years, and his children: Stacy, her husband, Greg, and their children Haley, Trent, and Brooke; Todd, his wife, Haley, and their daughter Vera. His death is mourned by his brothers Peter, Tom, Andy, and their families, and John, survived by his wife Carol.
A funeral mass service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 20th, 2018 at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation in Bill’s name to My Brother’s Keeper, a ministry of the Catholic Church of St. Ann.
