William “Bill” Marvel Millsaps Jr., age 75, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, June 15, 2018 due to Parkinson’s disease. He was a Georgia native, born October 14, 1942 in Athens, Georgia to the late Marvel and Carridean Miller Millsaps.
He married his beloved wife, Bettye in 1973 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvel and Carridean; son Greg; brother in-law, Gene Storey; sister in-law, Ruby Marler. Bill is survived by wife Bettye,
granddaughter Madison Millsaps, sisters Judy Storey, Beverly (Don) McIntosh, and brother Ernie Millsaps and nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Lockheed as a Tooling Engineer and was valued for his creative resourcefulness and work ethics. He was known as a lifelong “Mr. Fix-It”, a guy who would try to fix anything. Bill was a slender man who loved sweets, traveling and antiques. He enjoyed restoring and collecting old cars, once even assembling an Austin Healey Sprite out of boxes. Bill was a member of Peach State Depression Glass Club, a few car clubs, and Aloha Parkinson’s Support Group. Bill is known to all of us as: gentle, compassionate, thoughtful, generous, quietly witty, understanding, considerate, very patient, and a sincere friend. For 13+ years he quietly struggled with all of the complications that come with Parkinson’s.
