William Lamar Kite

Mr. William “Billy” Lamar Kite, age 75, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on September 14, 2017. Mr. Kite was born in Augusta, Georgia to Horace & Mary Kite. He graduated from Oglethorpe University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Mr. Kite made his career in insurance, later owning his own insurance office. He was a devoted member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. He had a passion for the Lord, his family—especially his grandsons, the family farm, and listening to other people’s stories. He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Joseph William Kite. Mr. Kite is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Jean; son, Josh (Diana) Kite; grandsons, Nate & Sammy; brother, Martin (Bobbie) Kite; brother-in-law, Carl (Erika) Riden; sisters-in-law, Joyce Carswell and JoAnn (William) Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00am at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after the service during a time of visitation and fellowship.
