Walter R. Hyde

Mr. Walter R. Hyde, age 87, of Marietta, GA, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bettye Hyde of Marietta, GA; daughters Ginger Ellerbee of Powder Springs and Gayle Monroe of Manchester, GA; Grandsons Matthew Ellerbee(Rebekah) of Canton, GA and Grant Monroe of Manchester, GA; great-granddaughter Sarah Elaine Ellerbee of Canton, GA. He was preceded in death by his son Greg Hyde. Walter served 4 years in the Airforce and after being discharged he was hired as a civilian, where he continued to work with the Airforce for 30 years. His family remembers him as very athletic he was an excellent baseball player, and an avid golfer. Walter won the club championship in Mobile. Bettye describes him as a wonderful provider for his family.

A chapel service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Faine officiating.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
