Virginia was born on December 8,1925, in Carrollton, Georgia, to Myrtle and Horace Camp. In her teens, she moved with her family of seven to Marietta, Georgia. She met the love of her life, Herb Morris, during World War II while working at the Bell Bomber Plant. She was an electrician who worked on the right wings of the bombers and Herb installed fuel tanks on the left wings. On September 18, 1945, she and Herb married and celebrated over 7 decades of wedded bliss together. Herb always said “She’s the jewel I found at the bomber plant.” Virginia was the most devoted wife, amazing mother, adored grandmother, beloved sister, loyal friend and committed follower of Christ. She led a Godly life, was a blessing to everyone she touched, and always displayed the fruit of the Spirit in her daily actions with others…Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodnesses, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. She was a longtime member of Crestview Baptist Church, now called GracePointe Marietta Baptist Church. She was witty, fun, always had a big smile on her face, and kept everyone laughing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herb, and sister Erlene McLain. She is survived by her three children Ron (Jenny) Morris, Donna (Greg) Roberson, Randy Morris, sisters Madalyn Dybvik, Barbara Turriglio, and Ann (John) Powers. She is also survived by her 6 adoring grandchildren, Ron Jr., Amanda, Chris, Steve, Deanna, and Kelli, 9 great grandchildren, Avery, Ashlyn, Alivia, Alexis, Leilani, Grayson, Violet, Jaxon and Emilia plus many special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 2nd at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:55 AM Monday at the funeral home. She will be buried along side Herb at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family request the burial to be private.
