Terri Anderson, age 66, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 - To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; 7 A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
"It Is Well with My Soul" is a hymn penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss. After suffering the loss of his children, Spafford wrote this beautiful hymn as a testament to the salvation he found in Jesus through the good and bad times in life.
It is well with my soul concerning losses in my life, but it is also well with my soul concerning dealing with consequences of me making wrong choices in my life. I have had mountain top experiences and have had valley low experiences too. There have been things that I have done that are right, but there have been wrong choices that I have made as a Christian. I am accountable for wrong choices that I have made, but the Lord has forgiven me. I have to deal with the consequences of my choices. Dealing with those consequences, it is still well with my soul. God is in control, and He strengthens me as I am trusting Him and learning from past sins/wrong choices that I have made as a Christian.
Regardless of our season in life (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8), God teaches us to find internal and eternal peace in Jesus. It is well with my soul!
