Sarah Judy Bass; mother of Craig Bethune Bass, Stacey Elizabeth Bass, and Tracy Kelly Oneida passed peacefully the evening of January 27, 2024, with children at the side at her home in Atlanta, Georgia.
She lived a full and thankful life filled with innocence, awe, understanding, growth, love, ambition, creation, angst, joy, belief, satisfaction and crossword puzzles.
A coal miner’s daughter from Pennsylvania, Sally saw the beauty of growing up and living in Old Miami, to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked on the MaBell split, then to Atlanta as her home and the Wood River Valley in Idaho for life’s short respites.
Her travels took her to Hong Kong waiting for luggage with Paul Prudhomme, to Nova Scotia looking for Elizabeth Bishop, England, the family home in Burnley and the Chelsea Flower Show, Scotland and its most bitter cold, Italian Resorts after Labor Day and many more filling her life with experiences.
Living a quiet, unassuming and wide life, Sally was loved by many including her 3 children, her 3 grandchildren, her 3 great grandchildren and especially by me, Guy. We ask that you believe in Christ and give to that which you Love. HM Patterson and Son Canton Hill Chapel is in charge of arrangements and invite you to leave a message of condolence.
