Yonnie, Amy and Emily:

My heart broke when I heard of Bob's passing.  I spent one of the best week's of my life with Bob in Scotland in 2002.  The 8 of us throughly enjoyed the trip and each other's company, and Bob clearly had the time of his life.  

I had the good fortune of enjoying many rounds of golf (and many post-golf rounds) with Bob.  As was so eloquently stated at his memorial service today by some of his other golf buddies, there was no one more enjoyable than Bob on the course.  He was a true gentleman on and off the course, and a delight at all times to be around.

If in fact it's the quality of our lives as opposed to the quantity that matters most, then Bob lived a very full and rich life, and all of us who had the privilege of calling him our friend were made just a bit better and happier by knowing him.

I can only hope and pray that as the pain of his loss subsides just a bit over time the memory of what a wonderful man he was will bring you some peace and comfort.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your daughters.  Bob, Becky, and I grew up and went through school together. He was a cherished friend.  We talked last at the reunion.  I know your pain is intense; just keep breathing. I will remember you in prayer and will pray that God will give you strenght especially during the holiday season.

My name is Michael Maude and I had the priviledge and the honor of playing Golf with Bob in Scotland.  One of the pictures in the photo gallery shows our whole group sitting on the bench in front of the Muirfield Golf Course Club House.  After the photo was taken, Bob and I went out and played the rounds of our lives.  I believe we both shot an 84 or 85 that day.  We were in a competition playing against each other and so each shot, each hole meant something not only to our team mates: but to ourselves.  We laughed the whole way at the great fortune we had to be there at that point in time in our lives.  I remember when we went to bed that night, our bodies were totally and completely sore: but we raised our hands toward each other and did a fist bump saying that we'll never forget this day and the joy we had inside of ourselves: playing one of the most amazing golf courses in the world.  

Bob was such a gentleman to me on that trip.  We didn't know each other before we met, but truly laughed our way around Scotland.  We even took a picture of him next to "Nick Price" whom Bob said was his twin brother.  I replied "Yeah, everywhere but on the golf course".  He laughed one of those deep laughs that comes from the soul.  

I wish all of you God's Grace and Mercy and Peace during this very sad time in your life.  May you all know that Bob is your newest Guardian Angel and will protect and guide you ... until you meet again in heaven... for eternity.

I was shocked to read in today's Marietta paper of Bob's death.  My deepest sympathies to Yonnie, Amy and Emily.  I'll remember Bob as a cousin who always had the nicest smile and was soft-spoken.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.
