Robert Steven Vickers

Robert Steven “Steve” Vickers of Charleston, SC passed away on April 4, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 10th at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Historic Marietta Chapel.

Steve is survived by his mother, Mary Anna Vickers; his brother and sister in law, David and Julie Vickers; his sister Cheryl Kochensparger and nephews, David Mark Vickers Jr., Robert Favrot Vickers, Christopher Blackburn Vickers, Michael Feret Vickers and Robert Lee Kochensparger III. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends who loved him.

Steve was a graduate of Emory University. He was a passionate, kind person that always put the needs of others above his own. He relaxed by playing tennis, reading and being on the water. In his retirement he officiated weddings because it gave him such joy to see young couples embark on a life’s journey together. Material things were never important to him. His church and faith were the rock that steadied him in his walk through life. When troubled waters confronted him that is where he turned.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, April 10 at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or make a donation to the Church of the Holy Cross, Charleston, SC.
