He was the husband of Maggie Quinlan, father of Kristin Del Rio, Courtney West (Denton), Ann-Marie Trepp (Greg), and David Gang (Erika), and grandfather of eleven. He is survived by his brother Lawlor Quinlan,Junior, and sisters Aileen Pritchard and Sister Margaret Mary Quinlan. He was proud to be named after a family friend, Father Robert Bapst, who was a mentor to him during his early life.
Bob loved to study and won a spelling bee in Buffalo in grammar school. He studied at Canisius High in Buffalo, taking an early bus ride from Batavia, NY to Buffalo daily.
Bob has degrees in philosophy, history, law, mediation, and pastoral counseling. He taught at LeMoyne College as a Jesuit scholastic. After leaving the study with the Jesuits, he went to the University of Maryland to study law. He was a sole practitioner for 30 years in Gaithersburg, MD. He later took courses in pastoral counseling and volunteered his skills at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Gaithersburg, MD.
Since Bob’s retirement, to Williamsburg, VA, he and Maggie traveled near and far. He had two holes-in-one as a golfer.
