He was born on April 14, 1945 to the late Ralph Donald Holmes and Dorothy Jean Stark Holmes in Springfield, MO. Bob graduated from University of Kansas with a degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering and University of California, Los Angeles, with a Masters in Business Administration. He retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation after 35 years.
Bob’s biggest love in life was fly-fishing. He particularly enjoyed fishing in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.
Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Holmes of Mo. He is survived by his wife, Elise and his son, Brian T. Holmes. His siblings: Jim Holmes, John Holmes, Donna Holmes and Paul Holmes. His granddaughters Emma Holmes and Brooke Holmes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation.
A Memorial visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, Georgia 30068.
