Becky was born on March 25,1949 to John Clark and Crystal Atz Clark. She grew up in Milltown, Indiana and later moved to Evansville, Indiana where she graduated from Bosse High School. Then, she attended Purdue University until her marriage to Richard Sanders on August 16, 1969. Later she obtained an BA in Business from Barry University. During their marriage, Becky and Dick lived in the Chicago Area (Chicago, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg, Illinois); Raleigh, North Carolina; Boca Raton, Florida and currently reside in Marietta, Georgia.
She retired from the Boca Raton Museum of Art School where she was the Director. Prior to her position at the Art School, she was the Director of Spanish River Christian School. Through the years, she held several positions with other non-profits or schools.
Becky devoted much of her time to her love for others by developing and directing the visiting lay ministry (VLM) at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Marietta, GA where she was a member since moving from Boca Raton Florida in 2015.
In addition to her work with the VLM, she was always extremely active in the United Methodist Women and attended weekly Bible Study.
Other interests included gardening, reading, traveling, baking and spending time with friends and family. She was part of several book clubs. An avid sports fan, Becky loved following her favorite sports teams and players.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents John and Crystal Atz Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard James Sanders, her daughter Christina Elizabeth Sanders Eldridge and son Mark Richard Sanders. As well as by four grandchildren Frank (Trey) Eldridge III, Wimberly Eldridge, Nicholas Sanders and Nathan Sanders. She is survived by her children’s spouses Frank Mason Eldridge, Jr and Michelle Novato Sanders. She loved them all most dearly and lavished them often by baking them the "almost world famous" pumpkin bread.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA.
Becky lived in Milltown, Indiana as child, before moving to Evansville, Indiana during her high school years. Many of her extended family as well as close friends will be getting together to celebrate her life on Monday, May 15, 2023. A video of the Celebration of Life service held in Georgia will be shared with them.
