Paul Linwood Askea

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paul Linwood Askea announces his passing on Friday October 8, 2021, at the age of 78 years, in Austell Georgia. Paul was born on May 16, 1943. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 56 years, Joann Ellis Askea on March 22, 2018. Paul and JoAnn knew each other their entire lives, grew up directly across the street from one another, were childhood sweethearts, and were later married. A member of Riverside Church of God for his entire life, Paul was a devoted Christian who loved God above all else. He was a dedicated Husband, loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Family was very important to Paul. To those fortunate enough to know Paul, know you would be hard-pressed to find someone with a bigger heart; he never met a stranger, he opened his heart and sometimes even his home to anyone who crossed his path.

Paul was an Electrician by trade and worked for Ask-Kay Electrical Contractors from 1966 to 2008. He was a Service Technician for (17) years and the Service Department Manager for over (25) years. His hobbies were traveling, camping, and gardening. He collected coins and die cast cars and loved the old western movies. His favorite color was blue.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of (3) children: P. Wesley Askea of Dallas, GA, Sharon McCollum of Austell, GA and Michele Petway of Cartersville, GA, (9) Grandchildren: Ben Askea (41), Sandra Fuller (36), Christi Isberg (33), Diandra Mayo (33), Hannah Askea (22), Tyler Askea (21), Nathanial McCollum (25), Daniel McCollum (25), and Samuel McCollum (22), (8) Great Grandchildren: Joshua Schlundt (19), Rachel Schlundt (16), Donavan Story (16), Grace Story (13), Natalie Fuller (9), Owen Isberg (8), John White (3), and Levi White (2), and (4) Grandchildren he adopted by the heart: Makayla Hall (11), Syrena Hall (9), Victoria Hall (6) and J.D. Petix (5).

Paul is also survived by his Brother Don Askea.

Paul joins in Heaven for a glorious reunion, his Daughter-In-Law Betty Dee Askea (36), Grandson James Devon Petway (19) and Daughter Rebekah Ann Askea (At Birth).
