Patricia Lynn Stansberry Carr of Smyrna, GA passed away on Friday, September 3rd, 2022 at the age of 82 due to complications from outpatient surgery. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 2nd, 1940 to Joe Stansberry and Mildred Wilcox Stansberry. She is survived by her son, Jason Carr, daughter in law Mary Gina Carr, and grandchildren Tobin, Taylor and Angelo, Tanner and Tera, her brother in law and sister in law Ronnie and Roberta Carr and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carr attended the University of Chattanooga and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. It was during her time at the University of Chattanooga that she met the great love of her life, Billy Carr. When she graduated, she moved to Georgia and married Billy and began her 30 plus year career as an educator. Throughout her years teaching, she made a difference in the lives of hundreds of students who still remember and recognize her when they see her shopping or eating out. Her and Billy did everything together, and you would rarely see one without the other. Pat loved watching Billy play the drums for his band Country Pie, they enjoyed making things and selling them at craft shows, working on home improvement projects and most of all they loved spending time together with their son, Jason. They travelled extensively together and loved visiting lighthouses all over the country. Billy passed away in 2013, and Pat has missed him dearly every day since. The family has solace in the fact that there was a great reunion in Heaven when they were finally together again. Pat loved reading, scrapbooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved her pets like they were her children too.
Pat Carr was a loving and kind woman, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends
