It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nancy Kim-Lindstrom, 57, of Marietta, Georgia, as well as her beloved blue shar-pei Cobalt in a tragic accident on Monday, March 28, 2022. Nancy’s family and friends were unprepared for this devastating loss. She was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by all, especially for the immense love and passion she had for her daughter “Lexi” and her joyful, high-energy approach to life.
Nancy was born on September 26th, 1964, in South Korea before coming to the US in ‘69. Being raised by Korean immigrants in New York City, it shaped much of her early years giving her a strong work ethic, consideration for others, and commitment to her community. After graduating from The Bronx High School of Science in 1982, Nancy went on to study communications at Fordham University where she met her future husband, Steve and they were married in 1990. They relocated to Atlanta in 1993 and she eventually went on to work for Invesco as a Senior Equity Trader for the more than 22 years. Nancy and Steve welcomed their daughter Alexis “Lexi” Lindstrom on July 3, 2002.
Nancy brought joy and her lively spirit to all her connections with family and friends and lived her life dedicated and devoted to Lexi. From the moment Lexi was born, Nancy and her daughter were inseparable, practically attached at the hip. Nancy not only loved her friends and family but also her new dog Cobalt. She spent countless hours playing with Cobalt and exercising at her gym. She regularly weight trained, attended kickboxing, kettle bell, and boot camp fitness classes. Nancy could be seen most Saturday mornings with her hands wrapped, boxing gloves on, landing successive roundhouse kicks and inspiring others around her to achieve their wellness goals. She loved the beach, the warmth of the sun, and socializing with close friends where plenty of laughter and mayhem ensued. She was a great cook and an even better hostess. Nancy will be remembered for effortlessly flipping back her gorgeous, wavy black hair and offering up that famous bright smile. She was the first to dance and the first to laugh.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Lexi, her ex-husband Steve, her brother Tony Kim and his three children, as well as many close friends who are all considered family.
There will be Celebration of her life at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel at 2:00 PM on April 10th located at 1157 Old Canton Road Ne, Marietta, GA 30068. In lieu of flowers and if you are so moved, the family requests memorial donations to Our Pal’s Place or The Cobb County Animal Shelter in her memory.
Family and friends of Nancy have expressed a personal desire to show their condolences by donating to Lexi’s college expenses. For those who feel so compelled, donations can be provided directly to the family at the funeral service.
