Misty was a local softball legend in the community. She graduated from Campbell High School in 1997, where she helped bring home Campbell's one and only Slow Pitch Softball Championship her sophomore year in 1994. She helped lead her travel team, the Georgia Girls, into the Softball Hall of Fame in Richmond Virginia, by being the only team to win back to back National Championships in Slow Pitch and Fast Pitch in the same year. Before her softball career, she was a child beauty queen, having won several beauty pageants between the ages of one and seven. From there, she went on to join the Little General Cloggers of Kennesaw, GA with her niece, Jessica Sisselman, performing annually at the North Georgia State Fair and on the Grand Ole Opry stage on national television.
She was a long standing employee of Publix, working at several local stores over a 20 year span including the Marietta, Smyrna, and Northside locations.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Shadix (Marietta), and sisters Cynthia Marlin (Panama City Beach, FL) and Tonya Williams (Dallas). She is proceeded in death by her mother, Barbara Melissa Smith (2017) and sister, Jan Hendrix (2012).
