Mildred Fincher Carver, age 89, of Adairsville, GA, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family, on June 9, 2016. Born in Kingston, GA to parents Paul and Lillie Fincher; she was one of five children. Mildred enjoyed a wonderful life as a mother, grandmother and most of all, wife to Henry, her husband of 70 years. Mildred and Henry married in 1945, and built a life together that most of us can only dream of. They lived in Cobb County for almost 40 years, having a small farm where they enjoyed growing their own vegetables, tending to various farm animals and working side by side through it all. Mildred’s hobbies included,collecting dolls’ (she has a grand collection), canning fruits and vegetables (she loved to share with her neighbors and friends), and spoiling her son Randy with cakes, cookies, pies and treats (all made from scratch).
Mildred not only had a wonderful home life, she had a successful career with Lockheed Martin as an analyst until her retirement. She enjoyed taking family vacations to Panama City Beach, FL and Branson, MO. Her love of church was evident; she was a devout member of Adairsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include, her loving husband of 70 years, Henry Carver; one son, Randy (Jan) Carver; granddaughter, Jade (Todd) Craven; sister, Ruth (Henry) Edge; brother-in-law, Elmus (Brenda) Carver, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016, at 2:30 PM, at Georgia Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Michael Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 6PM-8PM at the funeral home.
