Visitation and funeral will be at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home on January 30, 2021. Visitation will be at 2:00pm followed by Graveside Services at 2:30pm. Dr. Jeff Pennington of Smyrna First Baptist Church will be officiating.
Maudie was born on October 24, 1931 in Ozark, Alabama. Her family moved to Columbus, Georgia where she graduated from Baker High School. She later went on to earn her BA from Huntington College, Montgomery, Alabama. She achieved this while successfully raising four children without missing a ball game, recital or school activity, while pursuing a successful career with the Federal Government ending with 24 yrs. at the US Forest Service. Maudie was an active member at Smyrna First Baptist Church. Maudie was an active member in her ladies Sunday School class. She and her husband Frank enjoyed volunteering with Vacation Bible School, Camp Pinnacle, Habitat for Humanity and other church building projects. She and Frank also loved traveling with their travel club throughout the United States.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Butler, parents, Mattie Strickland and Charlie Wyatt Tidwell, Sister, Nellie Edmonds, and brothers Wade Tidwell, Harold Tidwell and Kenneth Tidwell. She is survived by her sister Faye McClelland, children Ronnie Reddock (Gloria), Debra Reddock, Brian Reddock (Pam), Tim Reddock (Ginger), six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Buddy Shavers, Tommy Edmonds, Mike Edmonds, Don Edmonds, Carl Edmonds, Dave Tidwell, Bo Tidwell.
