Mary Lou Power was born in Chicago, IL on November 9, 1940 and passed away at home on February 18, 2021. She lived in Chicago until moving with her husband and two daughters to Memphis, TN. She was a full time mom in those early years with her home being the gathering place for all the neighborhood kids. Later she relocated to Marietta, GA and took a job as an inside sales representative with a wire manufacturer. A colleague recently noted, “She did a super job working with my accounts. I believe she was as good an ambassador to purchasing agent’s as could be. She never missed an order or inquiry”. That was Mary Lou, always on top of things.
She was an accomplished home decorator and gardener, a dog lover, a great story teller and loved to travel. But most import, she loved a nice glass of wine at 5:00 PM. After the loss of her husband to cancer, she met and married Harry Dan Power, who survives her. She is also survived by two daughters, Lori Tucker and her husband (Todd) of Oakland, TN and Lynn Ralph and her husband (David) of Marietta, GA, a step-daughter, Leah Dennis, Maple Valley, WA, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She did not wish to have a memorial service but anyone who would like to remember her with a memorial gift please consider Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta at www.GRRA.com.
