Marquis had a well-rounded, diverse educational experience; he attended elementary school in New York City, middle school in Georgia, and high school in Florida. He continued his diverse experience at the University of California, Irvine where he enjoyed participating in the Sailing and Debate club. He concluded his higher education at Florida Atlantic University where he earned a bachelor’s degree.
A servant’s heart, Marquis believed in giving back to his community. He served as a volunteer for Jack and Jill where he assisted in many areas. In addition to Jack and Jill, he spent three years as a volunteer in the emergency room at Plantation hospital in Florida. Furthermore, family was essential to Marquis; he thoroughly enjoyed birthdays, holidays, celebrations, or just spending time hanging with family.
Qusie was passionate about playing sports. In his early years, he was an avid soccer player. He subsequently transitioned to basketball, tennis, and sailing in his older years. Marquis found sports to be both challenging and refreshing.
Marquis leaves to mourn his passing, his parents Ava Nadine and Lincoln; stepfather Oneil; siblings Alicia, Orion, Clive, Sharonda, Shannon, Amber, Clement, Michael, Carlinton, Jheanell, Jermaine, and Kelley; cousins, Carlene, Rachelle, Jeremy, Onika, Matthew, Simeon, Evan, Ethan, Trey, Omika and Perry; aunts, uncles, and multiple other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, 1306 Whitlock Ave. Marietta, GA 30064.
