Lois led a life well lived. In 1966, Lois graduated from the University of Miami, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and she went on to earn a Masters of Social Work in 1972 from Barry College School of Social Work. On April 10, 1976, she married the love of her life, James Wilson, and they spent the next forty-seven years together before her passing.
Lois was very strong in her faith and held her relationship with the Lord close to her heart. She also valued the quality time she spent with her family and friends creating beautiful memories.
Lois was a very giving and caring woman. She cared for and helped people in their time of need, and this was evident throughout her life as a social worker. After ten years of social work, Lois took a break to raise her children and later returned to work to help others in the field she loved. Following her retirement, she volunteered in Northside Hospital’s Special Care Nursery holding and caring for newborns. Lois was loved by everyone she knew and will deeply be missed.
Along with her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Vanderipe.
She is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Wilson; son, Jonathan (Angela) Wilson; daughter, Jennifer (Matt) Easley; grandchildren, Ava and Jonny Cole Wilson and Braddock, Caleb and Emelyn Easley; and extended family members and friends to cherish her memory.
