On Thursday, the 6th day of September, Lisa Dianne (Holt) Fortner passed away at the age of 55. Lisa was born September 21, 1962 to Robert Neil and Shannon C. Holt in Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Steven "Tracy" Fortner, daughter Kristen Michelle (Fortner) Cudnohufsky , son Steven Tracy Fortner, Jr., grandchildren Bradley, Alex, and Sloane (unborn) [Kristen], mother Shannon C. Holt, brother Mark S. Holt, sister-in-law Elizabethe (Mark), nephew Logan, niece Daisy (Mark and Elizabethe), brother-in-law Christopher Fortner, numerous cousins, and countless loving and loyal friends. Lisa is predeceased by her father Robert and older brother Karl. Lisa was a 1984 graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor's degree in education. Lisa was a recently retired public school teacher of 29 years, retiring from the Fayette County Board of Education. Lisa spent her initial 14 years of teaching with the Clayton County Schools, and the remainder with Fayette County Schools. She was a sister member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, and loved every aspect of teaching within our wonderful Georgia public school system. Lisa touched the lives of hundreds of children throughout her career. Lisa's love and passion for nurturing and positively affecting the lives of elementary school children was second only to being the most loving and faithful wife to Tracy, whom she met in high school in 1978. Unfortunately, Lisa's teaching career was ended by illness. Lisa loved her family with all her heart. The majority of her mementos, as you will see placed around at visitation, were family photographs and quotes about family. Lisa loved family gatherings, and was an accomplished cook. Lisa labored over and loved preparing family meals. On Thursday, September 6, Lisa died at her home in Fayetteville, in her favorite recliner, covered by her favorite blanket. Her beautiful smile, and her loving heart made this world a better place!
Lisa is now dancing with the angels inside a healthy body and mind. Heaven is a richer place today.
