Lisa Jean Corley, age 48, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on February 23, 2020. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Charles and Arline Moore. She met and married her husband Scott Corley in 2001. She graduated from Pope High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University with a degree in English/Art History and began a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy which she hoped to use to work with children/young adults as well as veterans of the military. She was employed by Chihade International for the last seven years as a logistics manager, but also worked previously among others with Freshens Quality Brands, Moisture Vision, and Graphic Art Service. Besides working outside the home, Lisa nannied a number of children and mentored several others all of whom were ever dear to her.
In her spare time, she enjoyed books, music, live comedy, and spending time with her family and friends. Lisa was an artist/painter and had a distinctive eye for finding beauty in the world and life even when others did not. Lisa was an avid photographer; she particularly loved taking pictures of nature but also photographed a number of weddings and pregnancy/newborn sessions and was honored to capture those moments for the families with whom she worked. Lisa was raised in the Catholic church and served as a Sunday school teacher while attending St Ann’s Catholic Church in Marietta, and as a Eucharistic minister and a Committee member for the Holy Name Ministry while she and her husband attended The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration in Marietta. Lisa was also proud to have done work with the VFW, the Freshens Foundation, and was a HOA board member at the Wyndham Ocean Ridge in Edisto, South Carolina.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father Charles Moore. She is survived by her husband Scott Corley, her mother Arline Moore, her parents-in-law Robert and Stephanie Corley, her brother Charles Moore II, her sisters-in-law Beth Moore, Stacy Forkin, and Allison Elwood, and her nephews Charlie, John, and Vincent Moore.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at St Ann's Catholic Church at 4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062. A private family inurnment will follow on a future date at Honey Creek Woodlands in Conyers, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Fibromyalgia Association, any local no-kill animal shelter, or any local mental health charity especially those focusing on providing counseling to those in need which were all important concerns to Lisa.
