Linda Pierce Smith

Linda Sue (Pierce) Smith was born on Saturday, June 16, 1951 and entered the arms of our Holy Father on Tuesday, June 14, 2020. Linda was born in Atlanta, Georgia as daughter to Marvin Candler Pierce and Betty Rose (Chancey) Pierce.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Lester Smith; Her boys Travis, Tony, and Kevin; Her grandchildren Noah, Mae, Elijah, and Abel; Her grandpets Promise, Logan, Elliot, Chloe, and Dublin; Her sister Brenda Lee Wheeles; Her nephew Randy and nieces Tammy and Brandy. Linda grew up with her sister in Atlanta, Ga and graduated from Walter George High School. She then married her sweetheart Jimmy Smith on June 14, 1969 at 18.

After Jimmy’s tour in Vietnam, he and Linda had twin boys Travis and Tony in 1975. A couple of years later they moved to Acworth, GA and had Kevin in 1980. Linda worked many years for Sears in the 1980s and 90s, making blessed friendships.

Over the years she loved and cherished her time with her family, and her dogs Fifi, Sissy, Blackeyes, Boomer, and Cisco and her other grandpets Tiger, Chuckie, Duckie, Butters, Limbo, and Chester. Baptized in 1976, Linda was a devoted and active Christian member of all her church families. After 40 plus years living near Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Jimmy and Linda moved into a senior living facility in Suwanee, Ga in September 2019.

A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Linda lived a Godly and Beautiful life.

After fighting Lupus for more than 30 years and finally ALS, she was carried home to the Glory of our Lord and the peaceful shores of Heaven.
