Letha Annette (Lee) See PhD, EdM, MSW, age 92, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Letha was born January 23, 1930. A Professor Emeritus in the School of Social Work at the University of Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Langston University (Oklahoma), her Masters of Education from the University of Oklahoma, and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She received her PhD from Bryn Mawr College in 1982. Dr. See taught at Bryn Mawr College as well as Lincoln University (Pennsylvania), Clark Atlanta University and the University of Arkansas.
Dr. See served as consultant for major organizations including the U.S. Department of Education and labor unions. She was a licensed psychotherapist, licensed family therapist, licensed clinical social worker, social worker diplomat an a member of the Academy of Social Workers. She is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa professional fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and is listed in the Who's Who in the World. She is author of several books where her research interest includes the areas of human behavior, refugee resettlement, diversity and social policy.
She is survived by her son, Terry L. See (wife, Linda Fowler-See), granddaughters, Taylor A. See, Jasmine A See, Jordan A. See. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, retired Colonial Wilburn See. The family will receive friends Friday, June 24th from 5 pm until 8 pm at HM Patterson Canton Hill Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10 am, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Zion Baptist Church 165 Lemon St. NE, Marietta, GA 30062.
