Larry was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Irene Wilson; sisters Shirley Moore and Judy Cogdill; brothers Mike Wilson, Bo Wilson, Johnny Wilson, and Ed Wilson.
Larry worked for the Cobb County Board of Education for 40 years, and was not only a loving and devoted father and Papa, but also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. His impact extended beyond his immediate family, as he served as a teammate, coach and father figure to many in the Marietta area, touching the lives of countless individuals with his kindness and guidance.
Larry spent years traveling the state of Georgia playing softball with family and friends. Larry took every opportunity to travel with family on beach trips and Disney trips as often as he could. Wilson family Thanksgivings and truly any event were always marked by a full 9-inning wiffle ball or touch football game that brought joy and laughter to family celebrations. Larry's infectious enthusiasm for playing sports extended to everyday life, as he always kept a ball and glove in the back of his car, ready to share a moment of joy with those around him, especially his grandchildren. His legacy as a caring father, grandfather, uncle, and partner to his one and only, adored dog Dallas, named after his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys, will live on, and he will be fondly remembered by his family and the Marietta community.
