Karen was born in Gary IN on July 12, 1962 to Mae J. and Dr. Harold L. Andrews. She graduated Roosevelt High School class of 1980 and attended a local business college. Karen moved to Southern California in 1984, where she worked in her father’s ministry as an Accounts Payable assistant manager for several years. She relocated with her family to Atlanta GA in 1990 where she received a degree in fashion design from Bauder College.
Karen worked as an AP Manager for Paradies Lagard’ere for the last 17 1/2 years as a dedicated and innovative employee. She also continued to cultivate her gift by sewing and designing for friends and clientele. Karen had a keen eye for fashion and décor and a passion for encouraging others to be the best versions of themselves. One of her most memorable accomplishments was the work she did to help decorate rooms for young single mothers in transitional housing.
Karen came into relationship with the lord during the early years of life and was a believer who walked in faith daily. She was a member of Tabernacle International Church in Lawrenceville GA and frequently visited New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn GA. She found joy in fellowship and worship with others.
Karen was a daughter, a sister, a mother, an auntie, a grandmother, a teacher, a friend, a boss lady, and a confidant…
Karen is survived by parents; Mae J. Leslie and Dr. Harold L. Andrews, daughter; Rochquel Taylor(Lenzie), son; Ronnell Taylor (Khristina), 6 sisters; Dr. Kimyko B. Andrews, Regina L. Grimes (Pernell), Carol P. Ross (Orlando), Haleigh J. Andrews, Heather L. Andrews, and Helen M. Andrews. 1 brother; Larry J. Leslie, 7 grandchildren; Ravyn Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Jamon Taylor, Kacyn Taylor, Ronneiyah Taylor, Avryn Taylor, and Alani Taylor. 3 great grandchildren; Mars, Ian, Julian and a host of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Karen will be laid to rest beside her youngest son Robert Lamar Taylor who preceded her in death on November 9, 2005.
Funeral Services will be held Monday Jan. 20, 2020 at 12 Noon in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
