John Alvin Hill

Mr. John Alvin Hill, age 69 of Marietta, GA passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Mr. Hill was a 1965 graduate of the University of North Carolina. After a long career in banking in North Carolina and Georgia, he retired from Bank of North Georgia in Forsyth County. Mr. Hill was a member of the Board of Directors and a former coach at East Cobb Baseball. He was also a member of Riverbend Gun Club and Crystal Falls Golf Club. Mr. Hill was predeceased by his parents, Josephine McGee Hill and David Paul Hill. He is survived by his children, Nikole Hill Edmonds (Dan) of Marietta, John Wilson Hill (Melissa) of Cartersville, David Hill of Brooklyn, NY and Ashley McSween of Cumming; grandchildren, Caroline McSween, Samantha Edmonds, Charlotte Edmonds, Colin Edmonds and Meghan Awbrey; siblings, Diane Swaim of Greensboro, NC, Tana Pratt of Greensboro, NC, and David Paul Hill, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; longtime companion, Cindy Smith of Marietta. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 31st at 11 am in the chapel at H.M.Patterson & Son, Canton Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
