Jeffrey Scott Sherman, 37, of Kennesaw, GA passed away on Friday, Jan 2, 2014. He was born in Syracuse, NY on April 16, 1977. Jeff graduated from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga in 1995 and from Berry College in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. He was an award winning member of the Berry Debate Team. He was an outstanding Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaker at Berry. Jeff was also a member of the Academic College Bowl Program.
He had a strong technology as well as social media marketing background and leveraged these skills to positively impact the success of several business endeavors.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and strong supporter of his beloved Notre Dame Football Team. Jeff touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed for the passion with which he approached life. He cared very much about people and was always the first to reach out to those in need. His friends and family really meant the world to him. Jeff struggled with serious heart related issues over the past few years. It can be said that perhaps he had a weak heart because he gave his heart for so many other people.
Jeff was very strong in his faith. He was a member of the Catholic Church of St Ann in Marietta where he was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8376 and was also a Fourth Degree member of the Bishop Charles P Greco Assembly 2161.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Fran Sherman, and brother, Michael Sherman, of Marietta.
A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, Jan 8 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Church of St Ann, 4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta. The family will be receiving guests in the church Narthex prior to the Mass from 10:00 - 11:00. Following the Mass, a reception will be held in Nolan Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Jeff's name.
