She has gone to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Her husband, Olbert H. (Skip) Hiett Jr, met Janis at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas in 1985. When he first saw Janis he thought, "Wow that girl really has some snap". They married on August 8, 1987 and she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be with Skip. Janis and Skip had many wonderful years together, keeping God as their foundation, making their love and marriage everlasting.
Janis' greatest joy and adventure were the births and lives of their two children, Spencer and Alexis. The family took many trips together. Janis & Skip especially enjoyed going to Spencer's lacrosse games, Alexis' swim meets as well as her choir concerts (in 2013 Janis and Alexis went to Italy with the Lassiter High School Choir). Janis always took great pride in that she taught her son & daughter to become strong, independent and decent people.
Janis mostly worked in the construction industry as an administrative project assistant. She was always well thought of by the employers and employees. She was loved and admired by her close friends.
Janis and Skip were members of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia for many years. They both have a deep abiding faith in their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
