Mrs. Janice James Jackson, 88, of Marietta, GA passed away June 13, 2013. She was born to the late Morris and Lena Burr James on February 9, 1925 in Memphis, TN. As an infant her family moved to Houston, TX, where she was raised. Janice married Charles Jackson, whose work with Lockheed took the family all over the world. She raised their four children in numerous US states as well as Okinawa, Indonesia, Egypt and Thailand. No matter where the family lived, Janice made that place their home, involving herself in community groups and filling their home with the plants and flowers she loved to grow. She was a devoted Christian and was a charter member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Marietta. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, and son, Charles Patrick Jackson. She is survived by her daughters, Janelle Jackson and Terri Jackson Forsyth (Edward), her son, Timothy Jackson (Jana), grandchildren Patrick Andrew Jackson, Lindsey Blackmon, Charles Forsyth and Ryan Forsyth and great-granddaughter, Hannah Blackmon. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 4:00-6:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill, Marietta. A funeral service will be on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 8:45am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
