Jane Warren Shoaf, 89, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully in her home on June 6, 2022 at 8 pm. A resident of Marietta since 1959, she was born in Inverness, Mississippi on December 15, 1932 to Mamie Louise Warren and Robert Lee Warren. She graduated from Inverness High School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. She married the love of her life Leonard Payne Shoaf a US Air Force fighter pilot on September 2, 1953.
A gracious southern lady, Mrs. Shoaf will be remembered for her abundant love for her family. She was outgoing and loved people. She was a dedicated full time wife and mother of four, a strong Christian woman, a prayer warrior and servant of God, a gifted hostess, a gardener, an avid bird watcher, a decorator and a traveler and an enthusiast of art and mid-century movies. She was the secretary of her neighborhood garden club and a member of the "All Dolled Up" chapter of Red Hats. Mrs. Shoaf attended Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta beginning in 1974 and served there in several capacities to include assisting in facilitating the annual missions festival and helping to decorate the church for the Christmas celebration.
Mrs. Shoaf is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Leonard P. Shoaf and her sister, Ida Warren (Billy) Randle. She is survived by her children: Robert Shoaf, Ben (Jayne Moore) Shoaf, Lendy Shoaf (Troy) Holder, and Wade Shoaf; grandchildren: Brigitte (Greg) Wallace, Trey (Sherri) Holder, Dylan Moore, Abbey Shoaf, Maggie Shoaf, and Susan Shoaf; great grandchildren: Briley Holder, Trent Holder and Teslyn Dougherty, and her sister, Amy Warren (Fred) Hooper, along with nieces, nephews and first cousins.
Known as "Miss Jane" by many, Mrs. Shoaf will be greatly missed by neighbors and friends of the Beverly Hills neighborhood in East Marietta where she resided since December of 1968.
Jane had many aliases such as Miss Jane, Jangel (J+angel), Mumsey, Scarlett, Lady Jane, Mumala, Nannie, and Scarlett O'Mumsey to name a few.
The family will receive guest between 5 pm and 8 pm on Wednesday, June 15th at HM Patterson Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, June 16th at Mount Paran Church, 2055 Mount Paran Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30327 with interment to follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
