Jane M Hopkins

Jane Mclendon Hopkins, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Jane was born on August 7, 1934 to the late Henry Newton Mclendon and Maggie Smith Mclendon of Carrollton. Jane was an dedicated administrative assistant with Lockheed Martin Corporation, she loved her family and was a devoted mother. An excellent cook, Jane raised her children as a single mother before marrying for 40 years to Thomas David Hopkins who died in 2017. In her early years, she won beauty pageants, which was a testament to her inner beauty. She loved the beach, even owning a beach house. Jane enjoyed gardening, was a member of the Beverly Hills Garden Club, she tinkered with ceramics and loved her Black Lab dog.

As written in the great Proverbs 31:28–29: "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'"

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband Tom Hopkins, daughters Wanda Lovvorn Bell and Teresa Lovvorn, sister Rebecca McLendon Brown brother Henry N. McLendon. Jane leaves behind her son and daughter in law Jack and Teresa Lovvorn, stepson David Hopkins and his family, wife Ashley and step grandchildren Thomas and Elizabeth Hopkins, sister in law Diane McLendon and numerous nephews.

Funeral service for Jane Mclendon Hopkins will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the chapel of HM Patterson and Son Canton Hill location, Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 11 am until service time. Graveside interment rights will be held on Monday, June 26th, at 2:30 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 2829 Oak Grove Church Road, Carrollton, GA 30117.
