Hansel Hester

Hansel Hester was born in the town of Uvalda, GA on September 6, 1930. He was the third child, and the second son, of the late Claudia Spivey Hester and John Lamar Hester.

In his early years, Mr. Hester served twenty years in the United States Navy, fifteen years with Royal Globe Insurance Company and retired in 1996 after a long career with Georgia Pacific. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Hansel Hester was married to Delores Tucker on January 1st, 1949. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years Delores (Tucker) Hester of Marietta, GA; his son, Robert Lamar Hester and his wife Linda of Woodstock, GA; his daughter Deborah Renee Jarvis and husband Craig of Grayson, GA; Proud Grandfather of Matt (Dawn), Gabriel (Dana), Emily (Hung), and Brian (Ellen); and ten great grandchildren.

Hansel “Pawpaw” has left a huge void in his passing and will be greatly missed by all. Our hearts ache from his loss, but we will see him again. We all love you!

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 12:00 pm, H M Patterson & Son Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Rd., Marietta, GA. The family will receive guests from 10:30am – 12:00pm, prior to the service. A reception will be held after the service.
